Anti-murine (m) interleukin-5 (IL-5) antibody was found to inhibit eosinophil (Eo) colony formation stimulated by recombinant human (rh) IL-5, but did not inhibit the production of Eo stimulated by rh lL-3 or granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). متن کاملInterleukin - 2 Production and Response to tnterleukin - 2 by Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells From Patients After Bone Marrow Transplantation : II . Patients Receiving Soybean Lectin - Separated and T Cell - Depleted Bone Marrow
The ability of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to produce and respond to interleukin-2 (11-2) was evaluated in 50 recipients of HLA-identical bone marrow (BM) depleted of mature T cells by soybean agglutination and E rosetting (SBAEBM). In contrast to our previous findings in recipients of unfractionated marrow. during weeks 3 to 7 post-SBAEBM transplantation (BMT). PBMC from the majo...
متن کاملFK506 and cyclosporin A inhibit granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor production by mononuclear cells in asthma.
Bronchial asthma is associated with eosinophilic inflammation and expression of T-cell-derived cytokines, which influence eosinophilic function. FK506, a newly established immunosuppressive agent, may have potential as a therapeutic instrument for asthma because of its suppressive effect on T-cell activation. To assess this, we compared the inhibitory effects of FK506 and cyclosporin A on produ...
متن کاملInterleukin 5 synthesis by eosinophils: association with granules and immunoglobulin-dependent secretion
Interleukin 5 (IL-5) is the main factor that promotes the terminal differentiation of eosinophil progenitors (as indicated by colony formation assays), and enhances the effector capacity of mature eosinophils. IL-5 is produced by T lymphocytes, CD4-/CD8- and mast cells and recently, messenger (m)RNA of this cytokine has been identified in eosinophils from patients with coeliac disease, asthma, ...
متن کاملSerum Interleukin-17 Evaluation in Patients With Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease
Background: Eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders or diseases (EGIDs) may result from an abnormal immune-mediated response to food antigens. Activated eosinophils release various mediators with inflammatory properties which may result in tissue and subsequently organ damage. The cytokine milieu of these patients has revealed increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, inc...
